Pinpoint 600 Advanced - Emergency and Assistance Calling for staff in need

The Pinpoint 600 Advanced Staff Personal Alarm System offers you peace of mind in an increasingly violent society where staff attacks are an everyday occurrence.

The Pinpoint 600 Advanced System, like all other Pinpoint Systems, provides protection for staff at risk from violence at work as well as the ability to call for assistance in non-emergency situations.

It is better suited to smaller installations than Pinpoint's other Advanced Systems, particularly where no more than around forty-five different locations within a building need to be precisely identified to those responding with assistance. Reliable and very easy to use, the Pinpoint 600 Advanced System employs Pinpoint's tried and trusted infrared technology.

It is free from false alarms and highlights only genuine cases of need, maximizing staff response. Affordable and cost effective, total staff protection can be achieved without compromising safety.



Of cylindrical design, the Transmitter is 90mm long and 28mm in diameter. Worn on the belt or clipped to the clothing, it is activated in an emergency by pulling the transmitter from its retaining pin, instantly spreading upwards coded infrared signals towards the Infrared Receiver Unit, located in the ceiling. Because of its power, there is absolutely no need to point the Transmitter at the Receiver Unit.

Produced in all-polycarbonate plastic for strength and lightness, the Transmitter is powered by a 6v alkaline or lithium battery which is user-replaceable. Model 614 has battery-check circuitry, while Model 617 additionally has a unique 'reassurance' button on the base, enabling the wearer to check the status of the Transmitter and Room Receiver Unit at the same time without setting off the alarm. Model 618 is a twin-code Transmitter with a button on the base providing an 'assistance' level of call. To attach the Transmitter to the clothing there is a choice of a belt loop, a waistband clip, or a metal 'dog lead' style hook.



The Pinpoint 600 Advanced Addressable Infrared Receiver Unit has a tinted, rectangular, infrared-transparent fascia made of polycarbonate for strength. The all-over, infrared window and special supersensitive discriminating circuitry (as in all Pinpoint Advanced Systems), ensure that the unit is instantly triggered by the coded infrared signal sent from a Personal Infrared Transmitter. On activation, it will transmit its 'address' via the data bus, to the 600 Display Unit.

There are two addressable models available, each with an address range of 01-99. Model 690 performs as a basic single-code Receiver Unit supporting Over Door Lights but no other accessories. Model 692 is a twin-code unit accepting both emergency and assistance levels of call from a Model 618 Transmitter. It will support Single or Dual Over Door Lights and also provides inputs for attaching associated Connected Receiver Units and other devices such as Door Contacts and Panic Buttons. Individual alarmed Receiver Units may be reset locally by pressing the button on the base of a Model 617 Transmitter or centrally at the Central Services Unit. Addressing of the Receiver Units is performed, in situ, using a hand-held programmer.



The Pinpoint 600 Advanced LCD Display Unit fits into a standard, deep, double-gang back box. When a Receiver Unit is alarmed, the Display Unit displays the Receiver Unit's address number, up to 32 characters of descriptive text and the type of call (*E* for Emergency and -A- for Assistance). The alarm tone also varies between types of call. Available in two different models, Model 636 comes with an integral 'insistent tone' sounder. Model 637 has no integral sounder but supports Model 365 'adjustable tone' sounders which can be positioned in areas specified by the customer. A simple, inexpensive digital Display Unit is also available, with an integral sounder only (Model 336).



Model 642 is a single unit consisting, internally, of a 1.5 amp Power Supply (requiring a 240v mains supply), connections for three data rings, a power-down relay arrangement, back-up battery and a buzzer to give warnings of mains power failure. Externally, there is a System Reset Button, an LED indicator and a System Isolation Switch. Model 643 is as above with the addition of a System Monitoring Display which checks each Addressable Infrared Receiver Unit routinely for faults and displays any apparent problem so that appropriate action can be taken. Both models come in a grey metal box measuring 220mm W x 290mm H x 80mm D approx.



The Pinpoint 600 Advanced Staff Personal Alarm System is installed using Pinpoint screened cable (with a halogen-free, low smoke and fume sheath) and standard MK or similar back-boxes, all as specified by Pinpoint. Units are connected on up to three rings of cable to the Central Services Unit. The intelligence of the System is distributed to each Receiver and Display Unit, where the onboard microprocessor controls the functions of the unit.
