What is Pinpoint's unique, money-back guarantee?

If, at the end of the first year, you are not satisfied that your Pinpoint Staff Personal Alarm System has been performing according to specification or that it has not represented value for money, then we will immediately remove it, refund what you have paid us and compensate you for your trouble.
*Conditions apply, details on request.

Our five year no-quibble guarantee on Personal Infrared Transmitters (PIT) is considered by many customers as vital. For just £40, everything that could befall a Transmitter (apart from the need for a new battery) is covered for five years. So, if the Transmitter falls down the loo, has a wash in a uniform pocket, gets smashed by an angry client or goes faulty for some other reason then we replace it free of charge.

What batteries should I use?

The batteries for standard Pinpoint Personal Infrared Transmitters are specially manufactured for Pinpoint. This process includes spot-welding a tag on each end of the battery so that it can be simply slotted into the PIT when it is required. These are available only from Pinpoint.

How do I place an order?

Send your official order by mail, fax or email. Details are at the foot of this page.
Please ensure that there is a telephone number with your order so that we can contact you if we have any questions.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on what you have ordered.

If your order is for consumables or supplies (PITs, Pagers, batteries, etc.) you should receive them in 2 - 3 days, providing they are in stock. We will contact you if there are likely to be delays.

If your order is for products requiring installation, e.g. additions to a staff personal alarm system or for a complete new system, then this could take up to eight weeks depending on the many factors which will be involved - your timescales, size and complexity of the job, availability of hardware and so on. Our Project Manager will contact you.

Where do I send PITs and Pagers for repair?

Mail them to the address at the foot of this page. Please remember to put postage on the envelope!

If your PITs have a 5 year, no quibble guarantee, we will repair them straightaway. If they don't, we will quote you for the repair so that you can raise an official order.

Please note that we will return your repaired items in the same style that you sent them to us, i.e. if you sent them 1st class mail, we will return the same way, if it was by carrier we will return by carrier, and so on.

What telephone number do I call to report a fault with my Pinpoint System?

Phone Priority Service on 01246 828484 24 hours a day, any day of the year.

Can I buy batteries from another supplier?

Batteries for standard PITs must be bought from Pinpoint.

We have become increasingly aware that some customers have been buying batteries elsewhere and attempting to solder them into position on the PCB of the Transmitter. This is both extremely dangerous and a risk to the health and safety of staff. Applying heat to a battery by using a soldering iron could lead to it exploding, perhaps blinding the person carrying this out; and placing a soldering iron close to other components on the PCB could and does lead to damage to those components resulting in a very real chance that the Transmitter will not function when required. Please, please don't do this! It is a potentially serious breach of health and safety regulations.

Perpetual PITs do not need batteries.

BadgePITs use two standard 3v CR2032 button batteries, which you can purchase from any supplier.

Do PITs come in different colours?

Standard, battery PITs are available in these colours.

Perpetual PITs are always green.

BadgePITs are always blue.

Telephone Pinpoint Priority Service on 01246 828484 and explain what you require, and they will send you a quotation. If you have already received a quotation and wish to place an order, then send your official order to Pinpoint Limited.

Remember, your Pinpoint System is guaranteed for one year.

Will my PIT work in a different part of the building?

A Pinpoint PIT will work for emergency calling anywhere there is a Pinpoint System installed. Pinpoint PITs are not programmed to work with just one particular system.

What is the difference between standard and long life batteries?

Standard batteries are alkaline batteries.
Long-life batteries are lithium batteries.

Long-life batteries will last three times longer than standard ones.
